The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in providing manicure and pedicure treatments and how to apply and maintain nail enhancements.
You will learn the practical skills and knowledge to work as a Nail Therapist. This includes health and safety practice in a salon environment, health and wellbeing, airbrush design for nails, enhancing nails using electrical files and the application and design of nail art.
You will gain the skills and confidence to successfully begin working as a nail technology professional.
What you'll learn
To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following practical units:
- application of airbrush designs for nails
- enhancing nails using electrical files
- application and design of nail art
- displaying retail stock to promote sales in the salon
- promoting both products and services to salon clients
Progression
You can progress onto employment or continue your education at Level 4, where you could focus on salon management, hair removal and skin rejuvenation, advanced beauty therapies, or Spa Therapy.
Entry requirements
You will need to have achieved a minimum of a Level 2 Certificate in Nail Services or Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy. You will need Grade 4 in GCSE English and Grade 3 in maths.
Additional information
To become a professional Nail Therapist, it is recommended that you purchase your own kit bag. This will grow as your skills and experience improves and will provide you with the foundational equipment required in the industry.
