The Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) is designed to give you the practical skills, scientific knowledge and in-depth understanding you’ll need for a successful and rewarding career in the sport and physical activity sector.
This course can increase your professional accreditation for progressing directly to employment, or can provide the perfect platform for advancement on to further training, Higher Education, and BSc (Hons) study.

You’ll also have the opportunity to experience working with local primary and junior schools to facilitate coaching sessions.
What you'll learn
You will study three mandatory units, and select six optional units in areas such as:

- Preparing for a career in sport and physical activity
- Sports coaching
Optional Modules:
- Assessing risk in sport
- Technical and tactical skills in sport
- Sport development
- Leadership in sport
- Ethics and values in sport
- Principles of anatomy and physiology
How you'll learn and be assessed
You will learn in a practical environment combining theory and practical skills which will be assessed in a variety of differing ways.
Entry requirements
You need to have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English or a Sports or Science Level 2 Diploma with merit or higher and Functional Skills at Level 2 in maths and English
